Meet Paula C. Wood, MS, LMFT
Paula received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brigham Young University in 1978. She and her husband raised five children. After their last child left for college, Paula resumed her education and earned a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2007. After her graduation in 2007, Paula became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with licenses in the states of Nevada, Utah and Idaho. Currently, Paula practices in the state of Utah. From 2007 to 2010, Paula was employed in Las Vegas by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Family Services. In 2010, she opened a private practice in Las Vegas. She is currently available to clients seeking therapy at The Growing Place, 8170 S. Highland Drive, Suite E-3, Sandy, Utah.
In addition to enjoying the adventure of being part of others' growth, Paula enjoys growing herself by "playing" with family (including 23 grandchildren), reading lots of books (many with, and for, her clients), and traveling with her husband and family. In the past 7 years, Paula has traveled to and lived in a total of 27 different countries.
Service has always been important to Paula. She and her husband enjoy learning about and being part of others' cultures and rubbing shoulders with wonderful people whose experiences differ from their own. From 2014-2017, Paula and her husband lived in Guatemala. There, her volunteer service included working with children at an orphanage as well as volunteering at a dentist office, where children from Guatemala City orphanages had their dental needs addressed. Since returning to the United States, she has been involved in teaching English classes to native Spanish speakers in the Salt Lake City area who sought to improve their language skills.
Paula looks forward to being helpful to you as well!
