Paula received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brigham Young University in 1978. She and her husband raised five children together and after their last child left for college, Paula resumed her education are earned a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2007. Subsequent to her graduation in 2007, she became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed in the states of Nevada, Utah and Idaho. Currently, she practices in the state of Utah.
Paula was employed in Las Vegas by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Family Services as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist from 2007-2010. She opened a private practice in Las Vegas from which she practiced from 2010-2014. She is currently employed part-time by Family Services as well as providing counseling services in her private practice in Sandy, Utah.
In addition to enjoying the adventure of being part of others’ growth, Paula enjoys growing herself by “playing ” with her family (including her 23 grandchildren), reading lots of books (many with and for her clients) and traveling with her husband and family. In the past five years, Paula has traveled to and lived in 20 different countries.
Service has always been important to Paula. Currently, Paula and her husband are serving as Salt Lake Inner City Service Missionaries. They enjoy learning about and being part of others’ cultures and rubbing shoulders with wonderful people whose experiences differ from their own. One of the services they provide is to teach English lessons to the native Spanish speakers who are seeking to improve their skills.
